I won’t write too much here because most of the juicy information can be found in the Original Post.
The TL;DR:
The Smart India Hackathon is a nation-wide hackathon conducted by the Government of India where numerous Central & State Ministries, Government Departments, Public Sector Undertakings and Non-Governmental Organizations state their problem statements for undergraduate students to solve. SIH2020 saw 10,000+ teams [1*] register for 200-ish problem statements. Our team of 6 was selected for a problem statement issued by the Government of Uttarakhand - ... to develop a software solution to predict the future jobs based on location, sectors, package (pay + benefits) and eligibility ...
. We developed Project Joopiter [2] and won first place and USD ~$1,350.
Footnotes
[1*] - Citation possibly required. I swear I remember the introduction video where the chairman of the committee said that they received over 10,000 applications that year, but I can’t find a source where I can verify this anymore.
